Ceramic Grills
Born from an Asian cooking tradition, kamado or ceramic style grills as in a Kamado Joe or Big Green Egg replicate wood oven cooking. The design allows for excellent airflow, evenly distributing heat & flavour. These types of Charcoal Grills are a great supplemental grill to complement your existing gas grill.
The special dome shape and ceramic materials used in the construction of ceramic grills, allows for more efficient use of charcoal, and retains heat much better than traditional grills. Ceramic grills also cook from all sides, not just the bottom like traditional grills.
The Kamado Joe Grill and the Big Green Egg grill, are designed to maintain low temperatures for long, slow cooking and produce a roaring fire for searing steaks or grilling pizzas. ... The temperature is really a function of how big a fire you can build and the larger the capacity of your ceramic grill, the hotter it will get.
Smokers
Pellet Grills ( Smokers ) are typically used for Smoking, Roasting and lower temp BBQ like ribs. Pellet grills offer real value for money if you're grilling massive amounts of BBQ or if you don't need searing 500F heat to BBQ your food. Most pellet grills can reach a temperature of 500 degrees. This does allow you to sear, but the best searing happens at 600-700 degrees.
Wood pellets are exclusive to pellet grills. They produce less than 1% of ash, so an entire 40lb bag of pellets will only turn into ½ cup of ash, which makes clean up easy.
Outdoor Pizza Ovens
A countertop or built-in natural gas or wood pizza oven is a popular complement to any outdoor kitchen. The inside of a quality outdoor pizza oven usually has a specially formulated concrete heat-retaining dome and large cooking surface. A door seals the pizza oven closed and focuses the heat on the pizza.
Natural gas and infrared heating systems are designed to quickly preheat the oven. Many Outdoor Kitchen customers experience minimal taste difference between gas and wood outdoor pizza ovens. A wood pizza oven is usually very large, takes a long time to heat up and you need room for wood storage but can often be an attractive focal point of your outdoor living space.
Tandoor Ovens
Tandoor Ovens are cylindrical clay ovens sometimes with a stainless steel exterior. The tandoor oven is used for cooking in Asia and the food cooked in it is called Tandoori.
