Naturally, gardens and landscaped spaces were the most popular area in the national survey (94.2% of landscape architects that specialize in residential design ranked the category as somewhat or very popular). However, outdoor living spaces (kitchens and entertainment spaces) came in a close second at 92%. This was nearly 20% higher than recreation spaces, a traditionally strong category. Next year it is expected to top the list.
